Chamesson French Limestone
Chamesson French Limestone is quarried in northern Burgundy and the blocks are processed at our factory near Poitiers.
The quarry currently cuts from 5 separate layers (known as “benches”) within the quarry. Each bench contains stone with slightly different characteristics but all of them are suitable for flooring, cladding and masonry.
B2-B4: actually a combination of three benches – 2, 3 and 4, all with very similar aesthetic and technical properties. It has an off-white background with small grey shell fossils.
Projects include Canary Wharf, London and Museum of Islamic Art, Doha.
B5: a pale beige background with small grey shell fossils.
B7: beige background with lines of small grey shell fossils.
Projects include British Airways Headquarters, London.
BG: beige background with clusters of medium grey shell fossils. Occasional honey ribboning.
Coquillé: beige background with prominent clusters of large black/grey shell fossils.
